During
game play, the health level of the competing Tekken characters is read
out from a secondary monitor using a series of photoresisters
coupled with capacitors.
As the heath bar changes from blue to red, the photoresisters change
their output. In turn, this changes the discharge time of the capicitor.
This discharge time is read by a basic
stamp microcontroller. If the discharge time indicates that the
health level has dropped, the microcontroller activates a switch which
connects the contestant to an electric current. The electric current
is supplied by a PSG-MAX
unit manufactured by the Folsom Electric Company.
